    • Your child has an IXL username and password if they paid for their subscription at the beginning of the year. We will be working on IXL once a week in class. Your child may also work on this at home; it needs to be a skill we have practiced in class. If your child did not pay at the beginning of the year, they can send in their $12.00 now and I will set up their subscription.

    • Your child also has access to xtramath.org. They have a username and a pin number. When they get to the website, it is going to ask for my email. It is khines@neusecharterschool.org. Please have your child practice this at home!!

    • I need your help reminding students that Math Morning Work that is handed out on Tuesday mornings during Homeroom is graded. I still have several students that have not turned theirs in from last week. This counts as a classwork/participation grade. If it is not finished during homeroom, it can be finished during Cougar time.

    • Yellow and Red Groups are working on multiplying with decimals. We will most likely have a test of that this week. After that we will begin working on dividing with decimals and then moving on to fractions.

    • Blue Group is adding and subtracting decimals. We will most likely finish next week and have our test towards the end of the week. Then we will begin multiplying decimals.

Yellow and Red Groups will be reviewing adding and subtracting decimals Monday and Tuesday. Remind your child to line up the decimals and put a place holder (zero) where there are empty spaces. I am planning on giving them their test Wednesday. Then we will begin multiplying and dividing decimals.

Blue group is working on division of whole numbers. After dividing and finding the answer, we are checking the answer with multiplication. When covering each math unit, we work on skills and word problems. Your child has examples of each in their math notebook. There is also a study guide glued into their math notebook that we go over before each assessment.

Please remember that all groups have a quiz each Friday on multiple skills that are covered each week at the beginning of class. Each student has this in their math notebook. We go over each section daily~class discussion and answering the questions. Every student should have the correct answers in their notebook.
